i am working on a "book of me" challenge over on the ckmb. i had so much fun completing the first layout of the challenge. the subject was 10 things that make you happy. it was harder than i thought it would be to narrow the list down to only ten. i used pattern paper from a K & Co scrappad to go, k & Co chipboard sticker butterfly and flower, jenni bowlin bingo card, and american crafts rub-ons. i added some bling to the bingo card and i made the die cut shape behind the photo.

http://letsgetcrafting.blogspot.com/2009/08/happy-holidays-for-our-heroes-mini-blog.html
many of you inquired as to how I made my card. I would love to be able to tell you what papers I used, but I can only guess. I am using my holiday scraps from my 2008 december daily and when I went back to look at them, none of them had the names on them, though I think they my be figgy pudding, BG or MME. the star was cut with my slice and the word joy is done in thickers.
thanks again for visiting!

sisters weekend and more
it's been a busy two weeks. i can't believe that it is august already! it seems like summer just got here. last weekend ursula and i went to valley forge PA for CKC and we had an amazing time. two full days of creativity, inspiration and yes shopping! we took five scrapbooking classes while we were there. we learned some new techniques, got plenty of new supplies ( which i promise to photograph to share with all my scrapping friends) and just had a lot of fun. on saturday night we made time to finish some of our class projects so now all we have to do is put the photos in them .
here i am at the button farm class. angela from the button farm gives an amazing class. we made a beautiful mini album, and right after class, we just had to do some shopping at the vendor faire!
i love this road sign that was just a short distance from our hotel. who wouldn't want to live on mall blvd?
this is a great photo of three friends; joann, karen and myself. we have been friends going back as far as elementary school and jr. high school. karen is in from indiana so we had lots of catching up to do.
bear is doing better since his visit to the vet. now he can get around a bit better, so hopefully we can have some more time together.
ava is so excited to finally get some tomatoes from her tomatoes plants, few as they may be.
santana is learning to love books.

and this is one of my favorite photos of the week.

jump right in...
Happy Monday everyone! The weekend seems to fly by so fast. This one proved to be hot and humid, a good one for water fun and outdoor activities.
Ava convinced me that we don't need a built in pool to have fun! She can spend hours doing this. Where do they get their energy from?

Sanatana wants to know if this is a pool or is it a water fountain! He decided it's more fun to drink the water than to play in it!

The spray park and the beach are family favorites. Santana loved looking out at the boats in the water. How cute is he in his fancy swim trunks! I think this is one of my favorite summer photos so far.

Ava loves using her artisit skills with a bit of sidewalk chalk, a nice quiet activity when the day is winding done.
These are the moments we treasure...the little things that really matter.

Callicoon
Happy Monday everyone!
I had a nice weekend in Callicoon PA at Wally's house. We drove up early Saturday morning. The weather was picture perfect. On the way up we took a different route, than we normally do and drove through Hawks Nest, along the Delaware River. What an amazing view of the River.
There are such amazing Natural Wonders all around us, we just have to stop and enjoy them.
We did some chores around the house and than enjoyed the rivierside beauty. I took a nice walk into town, truely small town USA!

I took lots of photos along the way creating my own photo walking tour.

The evening was nice, warm, breezy and pleasant. We sat outside until it got too dark and watched a pair of young deer roaming the property. They are such beautiful creatures.

Sunday was another sunny day, the kind with the big white puffy clouds floating by every now and then. I spent some time reading outside, catching some rays and watching somemore deer.
Monday is back to the real world of work and chores....but that's what weekends are for, a break and some rest and relaxation!
