In honor of those special men in our lives, I've created a few cards. I used some Graphic 45 papers and lots of Papertrey Ink Stamps.

I hope all the men in your life had a Happy father's Day!

cards for men

i always have such a hard time making cards for men. i got the idea for this card from last month's Papercrafts Magazine and new i had to make it. i just love the Graphic 45 papers and i have been saving them for just the right card. i love how it turned out and plan on making another version of it for a Father's Day card.

this cute monkey card is so fun and playful! I used a variety of goodies to create this card. the monkey is colored with copics. the kites are fussy cut and stamped with some jenni bowlin inks. i used a few PTI stamps as well as a Lawn Fawn set for the sentiment.

PTI Rocket

When I saw the Rocket stamp set on Papertrey Ink, I know had to get it. Santana loves Buzz Light Year and walks around the house saying "to infinity and beyond". Here is the card I made for his third birthday. I got my inspiration from The Papertrey Ink Gallery.

The background is done with Tim Holtz distess inks. The images are colored with copic markers. I especailly like the "bling" used for the Rocket window. I think I will be making more of these cards for the little men in our lives.

time flies and cards

i can't believe we are almost half way through the summer already. where does the time go?

here are a few of my latest cards that i've made.

this one i made for ava's dance recital. she loved it and she even asked me how i made it. it was a wonderful night for all of us. i remember sitting through so many recitals with melissa. to see ava up there on the stage dancing, brought back the same butterflies i used to get watching her mom!

here are a few cards i made for a card olymics i'm participating in on one of the message boards i belong to. i had so much fun making this red, white and blue card. i used my cricut to make the layered flag and stars. It's hard to tell from the photo, that i used a glitter glazed pen on the stripes of the flag and to make stitch lines around the navy background. i will admit that the card is pretty heavy with all the layers so it will need some extra postage for mailing.

this card was made for a fall card challenge and it won first place! I was totally caught by surprise! you know when you're not loving something and you just keep playing with it...well that was how i felt about this card, so you can only imagine my surprise when i found out that it placed! it's hard to tell from the photo, but the gold sprigs are done with glitter and the autumn greetings tag is layered and pop dotted.

thanks for visiting!

june is here

i can't believe it's june already! yeah...summer fun is about to begin. i plan on spending time exploring the island with ava and santana and getting some much needed relaxtion in by the shore. sounds like a great combination for new photos!

in the meantime here are two of my latest cards.

this graduation card was quick and easy, a little kraft cardstock, a border punch, butterflies, cut with my making memories slice, ribbon and some wonderful thickers.

i always find masculine cards to be a challenge. i found a good tutorial for this card and made it for my dad for his birthday. i plan on making a few more variations of it , for father's day cards.

Here is the link to the tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=so6VmrBSFfY

yes...more cards

i haven' t had much time to play with paper over the last few weeks, but here are some of the cards i recently made. i am in love with my new cricut. it is so much fun! i need to start making cards ahead of time instead of making them day before i need them!

teacher appreciation

i'm so excited! i made these cards for teacher appreciation week at ava and santana's daycare and i got recognized over on Club CK. my cards are shown in the post on inspiring scrapbook pages. here is the link to the post: http://clubcreatingkeepsakes.com/blogs/ck_community/archive/2010/05/07/inspiring-scrapbook-pages-from-the-club-ck-gallery-may-7-2010.aspx

i made these cards using a notebook theme. the apples are cut on my cricut and i used black cardstock as a base. the inside sentiment is stamped with vintage cream ink (PTI) on the black cardstock, so it gives the effect of a chalkboard. these are the two styles that i made.
this is what the inside of the card look like. these would be perfect cards to give teachers at the end of the school year as well!

a lot of cards

That seems to be what I've been making over the last few weeks.

I really love these flower cards. I stamped the image, colored with Copics, cut it out by hand and adhered it with pop dots. These a few quick cards that I made, using various techniques.

cards

here are a few more cards that i made.
these were quick cards made using my cuttlebug for the embossing. i really should make a stash of cards for when i need them instead of making them one by one, but i never seem to have the extra time. maybe someday when i retire!

more cards

it's been a busy two weeks around our house. i think everyone has taken at least one turn at being sick..some of us have taken two turns. right now (fingers crossed) i think we can say that eveyone is just about finished with taking medications (except for santana's daily meds) and is feeling better.

over the last week i managed to make some cards that i thought i would share. i used kraft cardstock as a base, papertrey ink ink for inking the edges and i used my copics for the coloring. i'm having a lot of fun playing with my copics, even though i still have a lot to learn.

the colors in this card could be modifies to use as an easter or a spring card.

this card is one of my favorites right now. i really am happy with the way it turned out.

thank you for stopping by.

valentine's day 2010

i hope everyone had a very nice valentine's day. i made some cards that i tried some new techniques on.

i have decided that i love working with kraft cardstock as a base for cards. this is a simple card that i'm very happy with the results of.

the next two cards i made using my new copics, that i got with my christmas gift cards to my local scrapbook store, http://scrappersplayground.blogspot.com/

thanks for taking the time to stop by.
